9/11 Memorial, South Pool, Manhattan, New York (United States) [2015]

Background: The basic question I had standing on the edge of the South Pool of 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan marking the foundations of the South Tower of the World Trade Center was "WHY?". After we visited the museum (should be on every New York visitor agenda) the question was supported by a "WHAT?". What in the name of humanity makes 16 people gather in the will to sacrifice their lives to take more than 3,000 innocent lives with them.
