Background: To get on the ferry to Liberty Island (the island where the Statue of Liberty stands) you have to pass through a security check which is comparable to the one you know from an airport. You enter the ferry at Battery Park. Details on prices and conditions can be found on the official website of the Statue of Liberty. Once you are through the security check your ferry ride starts with magnificent views on the Manhattan Skyline, Brooklyn and places like Ellis Island.
