Taipei Skyline

Skyline of Taipei, view from Elephant Mountain (Taiwan) [2016]

Background: I read about the Elephant Mountain (Xiangshan) in my travel guide and for me it was clear from the start that whenever I go to Taipei I would have to hike up this hill. When I finally got to Taipei the first time in July 2016 I used my chance. On an evening after a business dinner I grabbed my camera and my tripod and took the Metro to Xiangshan station. What looks like a short stroll on the map turned out to be an interesting challenge with 34°C. Luckily I wore shorts and a shirt and when I arrived at the view point I was soaking wet. Totally worth every single one of the hundreds of steps. The reward is a magnificent view over the skyline including Taipei 101 (on the left), for me one of the most beautiful scrapers in the world
